GoldenEar BRX Review

GoldenEar BRX Review : I first heard GoldenEar’s BRX passive bookshelf speakers at the 2023 UK Ascot HiFi Show and was impressed enough to ask for a loan pair to review. Part of doing reviews is you want to try and get products that improve on others you have already tried, or at least be competitive, otherwise there is not much point in the review.

I reviewed the BRX speakers against KEF’s LS50 Meta’s which I have previously featured on my YouTube Channel. I felt they improve in many areas and in some countries these BRX speakers are the same price.

To get an idea what I thought check out my video below for a run down. Admittedly an active but another speaker which uses a similar type of design with 6.5″ sideways firing woofers that I am keen to try is the new Kii 7, which I also heard at the same HiFi show. As per GoldenEar’s sideways passive firing radiators these worked better in my room than the rear and top radiators respectively in Buchardt’s S400 Mk 2 speakers and Definitive Technology Demand D11’s too. These GoldenEar’s are a nice dynamic, exciting speaker that excels at resolution. Hopefully I will get to try the Kii 7’s too.

Some specifications of the GoldenEar’s are below…..Let me know what you think in the comments on YouTube!
