The 13th Note Venue space aka the Notecave is situated downstairs in the basement. Available for bookings throughout the month (check our <residents> page as these nights are pre-booked & also the <listings> page, please book as far in advance as possible, please also remember some nights on our listings page are not listed till the full line-up is available for press, hence not all nights that appear unbooked are!) the space can be hired for gigs, comedy, private functions, basically anything you wish to do within the bounds of legality and taste of course. We are open till midnight 7 nights a week, gig nights normally commence at 9pm (sometimes earlier) and are over 18s only.
The hire costs are as follows: From Sunday - Thursday the hire fee is £60 (sixty pounds). For Friday and Saturday nights the hire fee is £80 (eighty pounds).

As a safeguard for both venue and bands / promoters bookings must be confirmed BY EMAIL or in IN WRITING. This must be done within 2 working days of initial contact or the booking will be cancelled.

Whilst the Venue can be hired for nights we are also always on the lookout for bands to play. Please let us hear what your band sounds like, listed below are three ways you can do this. The easiest and our preferred way of doing this is for you to email us your web address where we can listen to your tracks. If you don't have your own web address, then you can easily set up a myspace account which a lot of bands have. It is free to sign up to & use and you can upload your mp3s for visitors (inc. us) to listen to.



-) email us the web address where mp3's are available for us to listen: eg your web address and/or your myspace address (email to: bookings@13thnote). PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL US MP3 FILES AS ATTACHMENTS.

-) drop by and leave a copy behind the bar in an envelope marked 'FAO: Brendan' (cds preferably)

-) send in your demo (cds preferably) to: The 13th Note, FAO: Brendan, 50-60 King Street, Glasgow, G1 5QT, Scotland, UK.

Please remember: always include in the email/envelope your contact details: name of band / contact name / contact email and/or contact telephone number. Also please add in if possible brief information: music description, any previous gigs and basic biography.
Please be patient too, we often recieve a great many demos and only have so many ears....






What we DO provide: inclusive within the hire fee you pay we provide the following: the PA system with a friendly on-site engineer, this includes full PA including amps, speakers, monitors & microphones as well as a multi-channel mixing desk.
OUR EQUIPMENT LIST: 3kW Peavey PA / 16 input Allen & Heath Mix Wizard mixer featuring 2 internal fx processors / 1 external Alesis fx unit / 6 compressors / 4 gates / independent FOH and monitor graphic EQs / 5 DI boxes / 2 stage front monitors / 1 drum fill / microphones.

What we do NOT provide: bands need to provide all their own backline: eg instruments, drums, keyboards etc..We recommend bands share some equipment eg: drum kit, we will put you in contact with other bands booked on the night to facilitate this if you're playing on a bill without an outside promoter.





In order to publicise your gig we strongly recommend you print or photocopy posters and flyers to distribute around the bars (inc. 13th Note), shops and venues in Glasgow in order to advertise your night. After all if you don't tell anyone, how are they going to know to come! Don't forget to include the lineups, venue times, entry cost, any record labels to namedrop (if applicable) as well as the venue, name & address. PLEASE also on any PR you produce yourself eg: flyers/posters etc ensure you add in our web address: www.13thnote.co.uk. Click here to get a large version of our logo for your PR.

To further publicise the nights at the Note we produce the following PR (please don't rely solely on our PR, your own is very important):
We publicise our gigs in-house and across Glasgow with a monthly 8-page printed booklet and listings posters as well as our regularly updated website. So please submit the following via email to our web/print slaves ASAP so we can help to advertise your night:

-) Name of band & description of what you sound like.
-) Brief biography and concise information related to your night/band, include any previous gigs, support slots recordings etc.
-) Your web address if applicable.
-) Photographs (max. of 2 per act - max resolution 300dpi & 10cm on long dimension) or if these are available on your web pages we can download from there instead.

It is ESSENTIAL you submit as much of this as possible as soon as possible, please don't ask us our print deadlines, rather just send it in ASAP

Finally, in a 'you scratch our back we scratch yours' kind of way if you have a website if possible please add a link to www.13thnote.co.uk, we will add your link to our site in return.
